How a Creature Writes

It's no secret that I am naturally a very scientific writer. Well, perhaps there's nothing so natural about it: I've read a lot more scientific articles and textbooks than I have works of fiction. However, I'm always so incredibly moved by the words of my writer friend. They feel like they don't write enough, but I beg to differ. It slips out in throw away works — rants and infodumps. They may not be writing novels, short stories, or poetry anthologies, but it's inspiring all the same. Wei wish we could write like that: express the depth of feeling through nothing more than simple selection of words, draw others in to a rich world crafted of metaphor, to pass on the same inspiration that they gave to me.

At least sometimes. My dry, cold symbolic logic masquerading as English is still unique to me, and I wouldn't want to give that up, even for the chance to outsell the Bible! We think there is a beauty and art in this abstract and literalist approach we take, but we can't help but wonder: isn't they're away to bring a little more flair, and to be a little more... human? Or perhaps a little more creature!
